The weekly review, run entirely inside your Axos workspace
Why weekly, and why in the workspace
Weekly reviews work because they hit the sweet spot between "too often to notice patterns" (daily) and "too rare to correct course" (monthly). Running the review inside the same workspace that holds your daily notes, tasks and calendar has one enormous advantage over doing it on paper or in a separate app: everything you need is already there, indexed and searchable.
The ritual, step by step
- Block 45 minutes on the workspace calendar, recurring every Friday at 15:00 with a 30-minute buffer before. The buffer is what makes the ritual possible — without it, the review is the first thing to slip.
- Open a fresh note titled with the ISO week number: 2026-W33. This becomes the artefact.
- Scan the calendar backwards through the completed week. For each event, ask: did it happen, what came out of it, is there a follow-up task. Drop the follow-ups directly into the workspace task board.
- Scan the tasks board for everything closed this week. Note the three items you are proudest of and the one that dragged the longest. The pattern of "what drags" over 8-12 weeks is the most useful diagnostic you will collect on yourself.
- Scan the notes edited this week (search by "edited within the last 7 days"). Any note flagged for follow-up gets a task; any note that is now stale gets archived.
- Look at next week's calendar. For every event on it, ask: do I have the material to walk in prepared. If not, create a preparation task with the event date as the due date.
- Write three lines under the header Focus in the review note. These are the three things that must move next week. Do not write six. The list is meaningful because it is short.
What the ritual buys you
Two years of weekly reviews stacked in one searchable notebook is a strangely powerful artefact. You can search for "customer name" and find every mention across every week. You can search for "dragged" and find the tasks that reliably drag. You can search for "focus" and read the two-year evolution of what you thought was important, week by week.
All of this works precisely because your workspace is a cloud workspace — the review note you wrote 87 weeks ago on a laptop that has since been recycled is still there, in the same place, on any browser you sign in to.
